Overview

This SOP establishes CAD drafting standards for all Weygand Surveying deliverables. Consistent standards ensure professional quality and make peer review and revisions more efficient.


File Naming Convention

[JobNumber]_[Suffix]_[Rev].dwg

Examples:

  • 2024-0142_BOUNDARY_R0.dwg — Initial boundary plat
  • 2024-0142_BOUNDARY_R1.dwg — First revision
  • 2024-0142_TOPO_R0.dwg — Topographic map

Text Standards

  • Primary annotation: Lato or standard CAD font
  • Minimum text height: 0.1” at plot scale
  • Bearings: N 45°30'15" E format (degrees, minutes, seconds)
  • Distances: decimal feet to 2 places (e.g., 125.47')

Title Block Requirements

All final deliverables must include:

  1. Job number and client name
  2. Date of survey and date of drawing
  3. Scale (bar scale + numeric scale)
  4. North arrow
  5. Surveyor’s seal and signature (RPLS)
  6. State and county
  7. Legal description reference

QC Checklist Before Delivery

  • Bearings close for all loops (closure < 1:10,000)
  • All found monuments labeled with type
  • All set monuments labeled with type
  • Deed bearings vs. field bearings noted where different
  • Title block complete and accurate
  • Drawing plotted to correct scale
  • PDF exported at minimum 300 DPI
